The Classroom Experience.

TMS is hosted on Tuesday nights.

  • 5:30PM-6:00PM — Community Meal

  • 6:00PM-6:15PM — Announcements, Updates, Testimonies

  • 6:15PM-7:45PM — Classroom Teaching (Spiritual Formation, Leadership, Worship)

  • 7:45PM-8:00PM — Community Break /Additional Space

  • 8:00PM-9:00PM — Experiential Learning (Ministry Time)

  • 9:00PM-9:15PM — Connect and Depart

How this works.

We believe that every apprentice of Jesus needs to be equipped to lead a lifetime of effective ministry, regardless of vocational expression, so that the local church would flourish and thrive.

TMS is a two year program with four distinct emphases: Bible and theology, leadership development, spiritual formation, and missional action. 

All students will participate in one six-week spiritual formation course, followed by a six-week Bible and theology course. The initial course is designed to cover core aspects of spiritual formation, while the Bible course is designed to support theological and biblical revelation and application. Together, both serve to ultimately create practical growth and training in the student’s leadership and missional action, while simultaneously strengthening devotion to Jesus.

  • The core of the TMS experience is growth in knowledge and understanding of the Bible. We believe that all spiritual formation and leadership must ultimately be based off of a deep love and understanding of the Scriptures. To that end, our school is structured to catalyze students encounter with God through the Bible.

  • All students will participate in formation classes related to Jesus, spiritual disciplines, experience, and identity. The goal is to learn how to follow Jesus well in every day life, and the fruit will be a lifestyle of renewal.

  • Leadership training and experience offers students unique opportunities to learn about ourselves as leaders, the dynamics of leading others, the means to becoming well-differentiated leaders, and the spiritual dynamics of leadership.

  • Our program will help facilitate experience in practical ministry training. Prayer and ministering with the Holy Spirit, prayer room ministry, evangelism, and serving local missions in Calgary and abroad. This will build your ability to witness effectively and experience the excitement of daily participating in the move of the Holy Spirit.

Over the course of four semesters all students will participate in formation classes related to Jesus, spiritual disciplines, experience, and identity.

Bible & Theology

The core of the TMS experience is growth in knowledge and understanding of the Bible. To that end, our school is structured to catalyze students encounter with God through the Bible.

Masters Counselling

We are excited to partner with Masters Counselling to offer mental health support and education as students proceed through the course. As part of this partnership, all current TMS students will be eligible for a free first session (paid for by TMS). Additionally, TMS students will be eligible for significantly discounted counselling sessions ($35/session) with eligible counsellors.

Our desire is that as you develop spiritually throughout your time at TMS, you take advantage of this amazing opportunity to also grow emotionally and psychologically.

Spiritual Direction - Bob Osbourne

Bob Osbourne is a spiritual director, teacher, and consultant based in Calgary, Alberta. He has been with TMS since the beginning teaching about spiritual formation, as well as working closely with students in spiritual direction.
