TMS is hosted on Tuesday nights.

How this works.

We believe that every apprentice of Jesus needs to be equipped to lead a lifetime of effective ministry, regardless of vocational expression, so that the local church would flourish and thrive.

TMS is a two year program with four distinct emphases: Bible and theology, leadership development,
spiritual formation, and missional action. 

All students will participate in one six-week spiritual formation course, followed by a six-week Bible and theology course. The initial course is designed to cover core aspects of spiritual formation, while the Bible course is designed to support theological and biblical revelation and application. Together, both serve to ultimately create practical growth and training in the student’s leadership and missional action, while simultaneously strengthening devotion to Jesus.

  • The core of the TMS experience is growth in knowledge and understanding of the Bible. We believe that all spiritual formation and leadership must ultimately be based off of a deep love and understanding of the Scriptures. To that end, our school is structured to catalyze students encounter with God through the Bible.

  • All students will participate in formation classes related to Jesus, spiritual disciplines, experience, and identity. The goal is to learn how to follow Jesus well in every day life, and the fruit will be a lifestyle of renewal.

  • Leadership training and experience offers students unique opportunities to learn about ourselves as leaders, the dynamics of leading others, the means to becoming well-differentiated leaders, and the spiritual dynamics of leadership.

  • Our program will help facilitate experience in practical ministry training. Prayer and ministering with the Holy Spirit, prayer room ministry, evangelism, and serving local missions in Calgary and abroad. This will build your ability to witness effectively and experience the excitement of daily participating in the move of the Holy Spirit.

Masters Counselling

We are excited to partner with Masters Counselling to offer mental health support and education as students proceed through
the course.

As part of this partnership, all TMS students are given access to significantly discounted counselling sessions ($35/session) with eligible counsellors. Our desire is that as you develop spiritually throughout your time at TMS, you take advantage of this amazing opportunity to also grow emotionally and psychologically.

Spiritual Direction - Bob Osbourne

Bob Osbourne is a spiritual director, teacher, and consultant based
in Calgary, Alberta. He has been with TMS since the beginning.
TMS students get access to spiritual formation sessions with Bob included in their tuition. This is a time to process what God is doing
in your life.

Bob will help guide you and direct you on the path, bringing new insights and understanding for how you can go from strength to strength. Honestly, it’s like sitting down with a Jedi Master. But better.

Our Professors.

Cody Matchett

Professor of Bible and Theology

Cody Matchett is a pastor, teacher, and writer from Calgary, Alberta. He is the co-author of Revelation for the Rest of Us: A Prophetic Call To Follow Jesus As A Dissident Disciple (Zondervan Reflective), co-host of Kingdom Roots Podcast with Dr. Scot McKnight, and a PhD candidate at Ridley College (Australian College of Theology) exploring portrayals of human character in the Graeco-Roman World. Cody is passionate about bible literacy and engagement, psychology and philosophy, and all things coffee. He lives in Calgary with his wife Brianna, a counseling-therapist (Garden Counseling Services), his daughter Aletheia Theodora and his son Atticus Ignatius.

Bob Osbourne

Professor of Spiritual Formation

Bob Osbourne is a spiritual director, teacher, and consultant based in Calgary, Alberta. Bob has had an extensive career in ministry, involving planting several churches and overseeing the spiritual vitality of many people. Bob is a trusted leader in Calgary and is frequently sought after for his wisdom on spiritual formation and helping people follow Jesus. He is known for his sage like wisdom and a passion to teach followers
of Jesus.

  • Adam Meckelborg

    TMS Director

    Hey! I’m Adam. I grew up in a Christian home, but it all became real when I encountered Jesus at 18. I have a passion to seek revival and awakening in the church through prayer, teaching and discipleship.

    My greatest joy is equipping people for a lifetime of fruitful ministry, no matter where God calls them.
    My favourite part of my role here is hands down the community. We have such a special crew, and
    I am always amazed at what God is doing in
    and through them.

    On a personal note: I’m married to my sweetheart, Addi. I love golf so much, even though I’m not that good at it. My greatest ambition in life is to be a man
    of prayer.

    Vanessa is a highly pastoral leader who has a passion for developing community. She cares deeply about formation and discipleship, and carries a grace to catalyze relational health. She is an advocate to her core, and is constantly thinking about how the TMS team can better serve their community. She is rock solid and unwavering. We are blessed to have her.
