Our Vision.

Equip youth to multiply themselves as leaders, thus actively partnering with Jesus in fulfilling the great commission within our city and nation

Our Mission.

To create a movement of empowered and influential teenagers, marked by the character, passion, and power of Christ, that will successfully lead their generation to Jesus.

 The Classroom experience

Our program starts at 6:00pm on Tuesday nights (dinner is provided). This is a time set apart to eat good food, build friendships and community. On alternating weeks, we will meet with our small groups during dinner. Small groups is a time where we celebrate how God is at work in our lives, share challenges we are facing, and inspire one another with the things God is teaching us as we grow in our discipleship to Jesus. Following dinner, we have class time. During class, we discuss various topics pertaining to faith, discipleship, and leadership. Each night will end in a time of worship where we will minister to Jesus, and to one another as we encounter His transforming presence. TYMS concludes at 9:45pm.

What we offer.

Our program seeks to cultivate discovery, depth, and discipleship by focusing on four key components of our formation: classroom learning, community, experience, and leadership development.

  • All students will participate in classroom learning throughout the year that will be divided into three focuses: Become Like Him, Love Like Him, and Do What He did.

    Become Like Him

    Courses will focus on:

Understanding and practicing spiritual disciplines to cultivate alignment with kingdom values

Cultivate personal revival through intimacy, consecration, holiness, and living from a proper identity in God

Knowing and reflecting the character, nature, and wisdom of God in a fallen world

Living a life of honor, and bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit

Understanding and living out the essentials of our shared Christian faith

    Love Like Him

    Courses will focus on:

Developing a missional mindset that impacts our spheres of influence

Developing transformative relationships that honor, and follow Jesus model of loving others, and reconciling them back to God

Being moved to action and generosity in the service of others

Boldly proclaiming the gospel and the hope that can be found in Him

Inviting others into community and making disciples

    Live Like Him:

    Courses will focus on:

Living a Spirit filled victorious life

Being empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel, and display the Kingdom of God through signs, wonders and miracles

Living a Spirit-led life that surrenders to his His leading in our everyday lives

Empowering and activating others in the mission of bringing heaven on earth

  • There are three key aspects to fostering vibrant community within Tehillah Youth Ministry School: (1) Each week begins with sharing a meal and hanging out, with additional events to enhance community connection throughout the year, (2) We provide opportunities for students to use their God-given gifts to minister to one another, take faith risks, and share learnings, (3) Students will have opportunity to go on ministry trips and participate in leadership oriented ministry on a local and international level.

  • Each evening ends with Ministry Time where students are provided space to encounter and experience Holy Spirit, grow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and participate in practical ministry. Outside of TYMS, students are welcome to participate in Thursday night evangelism (optional) & local ministry trips (optional) where students have the opportunity to preach, lead worship, plan games, and minister to other youth within Calgary.

  • Students will be paired up with mentor from their local church. Students are expected to meet with their mentor 2x/month. Students connect with their mentor over shared interests and also have intentional conversations that help student’s process, sort out, or identify challenges that they are walking through, life difficulties, growth, and learnings. We are endeavouring to develop youth as healthy, well-rounded leaders that can go and likewise mentor others in their lives.

Students will also be expected to serve within their local church at least once per month. Students can serve within ministry of their choice. This ministry should be one that will give them opportunities to step out and apply their leadership learnings

  • Each TYMS student is expected to invest around 28 hours per month into their leadership development.

Parent & Student Testimonies

“My experience at TYMS has been so wonderful! Before I made the decision to join TYMS, I was starting to drift away from God and feeling less connected to Him. Later on in summer I went to Sunnyside camp where I heard my leaders talk about TYMS and my brother had gone the year before so I chose to try it out and see how it would go. TYMS had been one of the most amazing and impactful things I’ve ever been part of. I’ve learned so much about God but not only that, I have leaders and friends who truly care about me. I experienced things with God that I never have before. TYMS has not only taught me about Jesus and His life but teaches us how to put that to action in our own life and I’ve seen so many things come out of that. A year or two ago I wouldn’t believe that I could be where I am today with God, how connected I feel to Him and how I’ve seen my relationship with Him grow so much and to even see my growth in evangelism. I’ve met so many people I can call family.”

- Gabriella Rojas, student

“For years we prayed that our kids would have an authentic Godly community to come alongside them during their teenage years. A community that would not only build their confidence and identity in the Lord, but would also partner with us as parents.

TYMS has answered that prayer. Myca has found his tribe, this group loves each other well, and we as parents have found a safe village to help raise our kids.”

- Kelly and Chad Tebbutt, parents

“TYMS is something truly special. Having a community of youth with a heart for God is something that is often hard to come by. I’ve gotten to learn so much about God’s heart throughout my time here, and through that I’ve been able to grow in my relationship God in ways I didn’t think possible. From learning about God’s characteristics, to being equipped to go out and share the gospel, I’ve been able to grow in my faith so much. TYMS has changed my life for the better and I’m so thankful for the program itself and the leaders who work so hard to make it a reality.”

- Jeremiah Mackinnon, student

Meet the Team

When it comes to finding two people more passionate about today’s youth knowing and loving God, you’d be hard pressed to find better. They are passionate about equipping and discipling this generation in the ways of Jesus. Which is why they serve at TYMS. You will love them as soon as you meet them! Reach out, say hi, ask questions! They would be happy to serve you.

Emmanuel Sanchez
TYMS Director

Emmanuel is what you’d call someone who is passionate, all-in, on-fire for Jesus. He has devoted his life to following Jesus no matter the cost. He wants to see a generation of young people do the same.

Drishti Lakhani
TYMS Assistant Director

We like to call Drishti, “Calgary’s Pastor.” You might find her on the streets or in the mall caring and praying for people. She is all love for God and His children. She is passionate about seeing the youth of this generation know and love God.

Riley Kirwan
Dean of Students & Leaders

Riley burns to see the body of Christ awakened to the inheritance that God offers through the power and redemption of the gospel. He is passionate about helping others steward their inner-life and see God use it as a gateway to seeing great fruitfulness as they partner with the Holy Spirit in life. He has a catalytic leadership gift to see and call people into their potential and believes that one of the greatest gifts leaders can give is the power of their belief in those that they lead.
