ABOUT TYMS.
Tehillah Youth Ministry School is a vibrant community dedicated to the transformative journey of discovery, depth, and discipleship. At TYMS, we are passionately committed to empowering our students not just to follow the path of Jesus but to actively engage in the sacred work of reconciling a broken and lost world back to its Saviour. We seek to equip teenagers to be influential leaders by focusing on five key components of our formation as human beings: classroom learning, community, experience, leadership development and group mentorship.
Components of TYMS.
-
Students will participate in classroom learning throughout the year that will cover three key areas of discipleship:
Character:
These classes will focus on understanding and practicing spiritual disciplines, and on teaching students the principles and values that characterized Jesus' life.
Passion:
These classes will not only deepen students’ understanding of the principles of love but also empower them to develop a missional mindset that impacts their spheres of influence.
Power:
These classes will focus on how students can walk in living spirit-filled victorious lives and equip students with the tools to navigate and address cultural issues with wisdom, truth, and grace.
-
There are four key aspects to fostering vibrant community within TYMS: (1) Every Tuesday night begins with sharing a meal and engaging in intentional conversations, (2) TYMS organizes regular community hangs for our students to build and foster community amongst themselves, (3) Students will have opportunity to go on local and international mission trips as well as participate in local ministry initiatives. (4) We provide opportunities for students to use their God-given gifts to minister to one another, take faith risks, and do life together.
-
At TYMS, we are deeply committed to nurturing the leadership potential within our youth. We aim to cultivate a generation of young leaders equipped with spiritual depth and practical skills. We don’t see our students as the leaders of tomorrow but instead, as the leaders of today. Our students actively engage in hands-on experiences, such as leading worship, teaching, outreach, and more. We believe in unlocking their full leadership potential by empowering our youth with responsibilities and fostering a culture of encouragement and accountability. Our aim is to prepare them for leadership roles within everyday ministry and send them out into the world as compassionate, competent, and Christ-centred leaders who will positively impact every sphere of life.
-
Our students' experience goes beyond the classroom, especially during dedicated ministry times where they encounter the transformative presence of the Holy Spirit. Most evenings at TYMS end with ministry time, where students are invited to encounter and experience the Holy Spirit, grow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and gain practical insights on ministering to the Lord and others.
-
At TYMS, group mentorship fosters personal growth and community support. Our approach centres on small groups led by our TYMS leaders, who provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability for students. These groups meet every week for 45 minutes after class to discuss intentional topics for students' growth. Students explore various aspects of their faith, leadership development, and practical life skills through these discussions. These groups are designed to create a safe space for students to share experiences, ask questions, receive support and grow in deeper friendships.

Parent & Student Testimonies
“My experience at TYMS has been so wonderful! Before I made the decision to join TYMS, I was starting to drift away from God and feeling less connected to Him. Later on in summer I went to Sunnyside camp where I heard my leaders talk about TYMS and my brother had gone the year before so I chose to try it out and see how it would go. TYMS had been one of the most amazing and impactful things I’ve ever been part of. I’ve learned so much about God but not only that, I have leaders and friends who truly care about me. I experienced things with God that I never have before. TYMS has not only taught me about Jesus and His life but teaches us how to put that to action in our own life and I’ve seen so many things come out of that. A year or two ago I wouldn’t believe that I could be where I am today with God, how connected I feel to Him and how I’ve seen my relationship with Him grow so much and to even see my growth in evangelism. I’ve met so many people I can call family.”
- Gabriella Rojas, student
“For years we prayed that our kids would have an authentic Godly community to come alongside them during their teenage years. A community that would not only build their confidence and identity in the Lord, but would also partner with us as parents.
TYMS has answered that prayer. Myca has found his tribe, this group loves each other well, and we as parents have found a safe village to help raise our kids.”
- Kelly and Chad Tebbutt, parents
“TYMS is something truly special. Having a community of youth with a heart for God is something that is often hard to come by. I’ve gotten to learn so much about God’s heart throughout my time here, and through that I’ve been able to grow in my relationship God in ways I didn’t think possible. From learning about God’s characteristics, to being equipped to go out and share the gospel, I’ve been able to grow in my faith so much. TYMS has changed my life for the better and I’m so thankful for the program itself and the leaders who work so hard to make it a reality.”
